Impact

By the conclusion of Q3 2024, we aim to deliver a meticulously curated bundle encompassing multiple categories that not only meet but surpass the evolving needs of our target audience. This initiative has garnered a significant investment of 1.x million dollars and is poised to engage with a customer base of 29 million.

Design Innovation

How we work as design innovation team

Working in the Design Innovation team entails beginning with user desirability and product viability to explore the potential of products. As the project progresses, we gradually involve various departments and stakeholders to ensure feasibility.

Research Roadmap

2 user groups of research, 5 rounds of qualitative interviews

Throughout this project, we conducted 3 rounds of user interviews to glean insights into contemporary pain points, coupled with marketing analyses to understand existing solutions. Additionally, we conducted 2 rounds of usability testing to iteratively refine the design based on desirability.

Research Method

Dive deeper into the target users's experiences

As this project intersected with various internal departments, we interviewed 5 stakeholders to gather their perspectives. We recruited 10 external users to further enrich our understanding. Additionally, we compiled user journey maps, persona user scenarios, and insights to deepen our understanding of our users.

Synthesis

We utilize synthesis methods like thematic analysis and affinity diagramming to distill user needs, enabling us to scale them down into actionable design solutions.

Design Principle

Efficient

The information and interaction should be clear to deliver the information efficiently.

Screenshot 2024-04-14 at 22.19 2.png

Inclusive

Bring a better accessibility experience to more users.

Screenshot 2024-04-14 at 22.19 5.png

Concise

Keep it simple and reduce jargon language.

Screenshot 2024-04-14 at 22.19 4.png

Unified

Bring a unified experience, look, and tone to products and brands.

How to define the design principle?

• Given product characteristics:

Information-oriented products with dense API integration.

• Aligned with our development needs:

The design principles must align with the requirements of the developer's team and be agile in nature.

🔒 Final Design

I would love to show more design rational during the interview.

Final Outcome

03

Project Impact

Boosted user satisfaction and secured top-tier funding

Through our usability testing, 92% of users believe that it has improved their planning efficiency.

The internal team also has provided extensive positive feedback on this project.

Can't wait to share more after the project lands.

Takeaways

04

01

Embrace Ambiguity

Ambiguity... ambiguity... ambiguity...
This word encapsulates a transformative journey, imparting invaluable lessons along the way.

Frustration? Certainly! However, maintaining an open-minded stance in the face of uncertainty has allowed for creative exploration and the emergence of innovative solutions. Gradually, I've learned to trust the iterative process, embracing feedback and iteration as essential steps towards refining ideas and achieving meaningful outcomes.

02

Think Beyond Design

As a designer, while improving the user experience is important, I also need to actively consider other factors, such as how to balance design innovation and feasibility in the development process.  All these factors are related to cross-functional collaboration to help the product launch on schedule. Any plan has trade-offs, what should we do is think holistically about the impact of each choice and make adjustments.
